Host Profile: DJ Spindash

What's the name of your show?  Spotlight

What's your show about and when does it air?   Great Scott's and my show consists of songs pertaining to weekly themes/moods from which we draw inspiration for our playlists, as well as requests. Most of our music is rock, pop and country, from the '60s till today. Our show is on Wednesdays from 3:30 pm to 5 pm. You can also reach us via our Facebook page

Is there a story behind your on-air name?  I love Sonic the Hedgehog, and I gotta go fast.

How long has your show been on the air?  I have done the show with Great Scott for one term before (summer 2016), and this is the first term (summer 2017) that we are calling it Spotlight (it was previously known as Pop the Bubble)

What do you like to do in your spare time?   I have a lot of hobbies, but my biggest passion is cars. I love hooning around and wrenching on cars. My close second would be gaming.

Tell us about a funny incident that happened during your show.   It happens almost weekly, but we occasionally come on to talk, and neither one of us knows which is gonna speak first. Just adding to the cringe-fest on which our show thrives.

Have you gotten any funny calls during your show?   Not yet. Here's to the future!

If you knew you were going to be stranded on a desert island, what are 10 of the songs you'd want with you?

  1. "Hot" by Smash Mouth
  2. "American Pie" by Don McLean
  3. "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond
  4. "500 Miles" by The Proclaimers
  5. "I'll Be There for You" (Friends Theme) by The Rembrandts
  6. "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor
  7. "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey
  8. "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi
  9. "December 1963 (Oh, What a Night)" by The Four Seasons
  10. "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire

Mostly songs I can't live without, and then "I Will Survive," because reasons.

What is one of your most memorable concert experiences?   I have only been to one concert in my life, I am sad to say, and it was recent. It was a Canadian Journey tribute band called Absolute Journey... and it was awesome.

Tell us something about yourself that people might find surprising.  Pinkie Pie is best pony.

In the movie "WKUF: The Untold Story", who would you cast as yourself?  George Clooney or Tom Cruise
