Host Profile: DJ Drakon

What is the name of your show? Keep Calm & Rock On

Is there a story behind your on air name? There really is no story behind it. Just thought it sounded cool.

What's your show about and when does it air? It is a very strange combination of electronic music and hard rock. I generally follow a format where I start off with an hour of dubstep and hard electro, and then I'd do an hour of rock stuff, and then the last hour is whatever i personally feel like playing along with any requests i got during my session. I used to take the graveyard shift on earlier terms, but for now my show airs on Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

How long has your show been on the air? This is currently the 7th B-section term I am on the air

What do you like to do in your spare time? I personally play a lot of video games like Dragon Age and Skyrim along with quite a bit of TCGs (trading card games) like Magic: The Gathering and Hearthstone. D&D is also in my repertoire and I watch a lot of anime stuff. I like to think of my self as a "Well Rounded Nerd"

Tell us about a funny incident that happened during your show. One of the audio files I ended up getting for my show was corrupted and ended up cutting off about half way through. I ended up scrambling for a few seconds trying to cut down on the dead air time. It was terrifying at first, but looking back on it now, it was pretty hilarious.

Have you gotten any strange requests during your show? Yes. It was Principles of Lust by Enigma. Very strange song...not inherently bad. Just strange.

If you knew you were going to be stranded on a desert island and could choose only 10 songs, what would they be?

1. Never Enough - Five Finger Death Punch
2. Manslaughter (VIP Mix) - Lets Be Friends
3. In The End - Linkin Park
4. Master of Puppets - Metallica
5. Pure Sunlight - Mr. Fijiwiji (Feat. Laura Brehm & AgNO3)
6. Razor Sharp - Pegboard Nerds
7. You're Going Down - Sick Puppies
8. Adrenaline - Shinedown
9. Awake and Alive - Skillet
10. Bad Intentions - Zomboy

What is one of your most memorable concert experiences? I went to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra last year. Heavy metal + Orchestral awesomeness + Fire = Awesome!

Tell us something about yourself that people might find surprising. I make my own music

In the movie "WKUF: The Untold Story", who would you cast as yourself? Elijah Wood

Host Profile: DJ Gozza

What is the name of your show? The Gozza Strip

What is your on air name? Is there a story behind it?  DJ Gozza. Gozza has been my MC/Nickname since high school. It's a slicker version of my real last name.

What's your show about and when does it air? My show is about all things Michigan Hip Hop. The Mitten's finest MCs, DJs, and Producers throwing down for two solid hours. "Everything Great from the Great Lakes State". My show airs every Monday and Tuesday from 1pm-3pm.

How long has your show been on the air? Since October 2005

What do you like to do in your spare time? I write lyrics, record, and perform either solo as Gozza or with my Hip Hop group the Artfull Dodgers. I also produce beats and run my own recording studio. You can always catch me vibing out to music or watching a good movie. I have huge record and DVD collections.

Tell us about a funny incident that happened during your show. Once a listener came down to the station and begged me to let him co-host my show. I had to tell him, "Sorry, I work alone. That's the way i like it."

Have you gotten any strange requests during your show? I get strange requests all the time. Especially since I only play Michigan Hip Hop on my show. Some of the strange requests include "The Battlestar Galactica" theme, and some weirdo wanted to hear a song by Charles Manson.

Host Profile: DJ Southern Belle

Show name: Shaking Up the Farm

What's your show about? Our show is about bringing together different genres of music mainly rock and country, so that people have a variety to choose from. Me and my co-host (That Guy) don't usually have a theme but sometimes unknowingly one happens, or we decide to work together to create one, or one of us creates a solo theme. Right now our show airs Thursdays 6 pm- 8 pm, but that will change from term to term.

Is there a story behind your on air name? This is more of a funny joke because anyone that really knows me knows that I am not Southern at all. I'm from the South, but I don't have an accent and the only way I really show it is by being cold intolerant.

How long has your show been on air? Since January 2015

Tell us about a funny incident that happened during your show. One of my favorite memories is watching That Guy and Terrible Terrance eat jelly bean flavors that really shouldn't exist, such as earwax, booger, rotten egg, and so forth. The two of them decided that they wanted to go for a vomit flavored jelly bean and they were trying to goad me into doing it with them. Needless to say after watching their reactions I'm glad I had enough sense to stick to normal flavored jelly beans.

What do you like to do in your spare time? Reading, playing with animals, hanging out with friends, and dancing

If you knew you were going to be stranded on a desert island and could choose only 10 songs, what would they be?

1. All Apologies: Nirvana
2. Welcome to the Jungle: Guns n' Roses
3. Dirt: Florida Georgia Line
4. Burning Love: Elvis Presley
5. Blackbird: The Beatles
6. Here Comes the Sun: The Beatles
7. Thinking Out Loud: Ed Sheeran
8. Don't Forget About Me: Keith Harkin
9. Stay: Mayday Parade
10. Sweetest Goodbye Maroon 5

What is one of your most memorable concert experiences? It was the September before I started here at Kettering and I went to a concert at the Hard Rock Cafe in Atlanta. The venue was small only about 200 people or so. My dad got me tickets as a graduation concert. I went to go see an artist by the name of Keith Harkin. I already knew him from a group called Celtic Thunder and was excited to see him by himself. The concert was basically all females. He played stuff from his current album, from his days with Celtic Thunder, and tracks that will be on his new album. It was a great concert, all the females at the concert ended up taking over the men's restroom because we grew tired of waiting. This was one of my favorite nights.

Tell us something about yourself that people might find surprising. I'm from the land of Coke, but I prefer Pepsi.

In the movie "WKUF: The Untold Story", who would you cast as yourself? Emma Watson
