Student Shows Returning to WKUF for the Summer 2016 Term

For the summer 2016 term we have a handful of returning shows to the WKUF lineup, which you'll find listed below.  We hope you'll give these shows a listen!

Sunday:

Show/Time: The Edge, 3 pm-5 pm (returns on 7/17)
Host: DJ Bubbles
Format: Having fun with a variety of musical genres and featuring tunes you've probably never heard before!

Show/Time: The Lounge, 5 pm-6 pm (returns on 7/17)
Host: Afterburner (pictured above center)
Format: Music from the pop, rock, and techno genres. 

Tuesday:

Show/Time: Electric Vibe, 3 pm-4 pm (returns on 7/19)
Hosts: Vixen and Oswin (pictured above left)
Format: A
lternative, pop and EDM.

Note: Electric Vibe (which was formerly known as "FTBT", also airs Fridays from 3 pm to 4 pm)

Wednesday:

Show/time: Metal Mosh Pit Mayhem, 4 pm-5 pm (returns on 7/13)
Host: Maverick
Format: Various  genres of metal

Show/time: Chelsea's Live Line, 6 pm-7 pm (returns on 7/20)
Host: Chelsea, aka "DJ CC" (pictured above right)
Format: Hip-hop, R&B and talk

Thursday:

Show/time: The Facts Machine, 1 pm-3 pm (returns on 7/14)
Host: Zed
Format: Tune in as Zed pairs all the flavors of rock and electronic music with more modern selections and of course, facts.

Attention Kettering Students... WKUF Wants You!

Are you a Kettering student with an interest in radio? If so, you can learn how to be a part of WKUF by attending one of our weekly staff meetings. They are normally held every Tuesday at 8:15 pm in Room A of the Campus Center at Kettering University. You can be a part of our on-air staff, put your engineering knowledge to use behind the scenes or do both! If you have any questions about joining WKUF, you can email us at wkuf@kettering.edu, post them on our Facebook page or ask at the meeting. We hope to see you there!

For the spring 2016 term we've added some returning student-hosted shows to the WKUF lineup, which you'll find listed below. All shows start the week of April 3rd, unless otherwise noted. I hope you'll give these shows a listen!

Sunday:

Show/Time: The Clinic of Rock, 4 pm-6 pm (starts 4/10/16)
Host: DJ Whose Name is Yet to Be Determined
Format: Rock and its various sub-genres

Show/Time: First on the Moon Mix, 9 pm-10 pm (starts 4/10/16)
Host: GroundControl
Format: Music from a variety of genres

Monday:

Show/Time: Mixed Reviews, 8 pm-10 pm 
Hosts: Hiro and Vael
Format: EDM and international music (particularly, Japanese pop/rock)

Wednesday:

Show/Time:  Weekly Dose of Rock, 4 pm-6 pm
Host:  The Doc of Rock and Roll
Format: 
Everything that rocks, from the 60's to the present. 

Show/Time:  Rock Rehab, 6 pm-8 pm (starts 4/13/16)
Host:  Terrible Terrance
Format: 
Rock and metal

Show/Time:  R.P.M., 8 pm-9 pm
Host:  BWB
Format:  A wide variety of rock (R), punk (P), and metal (M).

Thursday:

Show/time: Shaking Up the Farm, 4 pm-6 pm 
Hosts: DJ Southern Belle and That Guy
Format: Rock (along with some of its sub-genres) and country

Show/Time:  Keep Calm and Rock On, 7 pm-9 pm (starts 4/14/16)
Host:  DJ Drakon
Format: Rock, new metal, electronic and dubstep

Show/Time: The Progressive Era, 10 pm-midnight  (starts 4/14/16)
Host: Nigel Worthington
Format: Progressive rock

Friday:

Show/Time: Lit Without Striking, 1 pm-3 pm
Host: DJ Match
Format: A
 mix of music normally not heard on the radio along with coverage of local and national topics

Saturday:

Show/Time:  To Be Decided (TBD), 4 pm-6 pm
Hosts:  DJ Paradise and Moxy Mike
Format: Electronic, pop music, and more!
