What’s your show about and when does it air? My show is about keeping Hip hop culture alive and well, providing positive energy, vibes & turntablism, and giving the listeners goosebumps. I play classic & real Hip hop, R&B, Progressive Soul, Jazz, Reggae, House & much more. Mondays from 11 am to 1 pm.
Is there a story behind your on-air name? My DJ name was DJ Chocolate Thunder in the early 90s because I was a fan of Darryl Dawkins (R.I.P.) of the Philadelphia 76ers. His nickname was Chocolate Thunder because of his thunderous dunks in the 80s so I took on the name. My friends were making fun of it and some thought I was a strip club DJ so I changed it to DJ Thunder, lol.
How long has your show been on the air? Since 2010
What do you like to do in your spare time? I like to spend a lot of time with my family, go record shopping, traveling, DJing special events, attending sporting events, and going out to eat.
Tell us about a funny incident that happened during your show. I had a few shows under my belt when a listener called my show. He said I sucked and my music selection was horrible. I told him “May the force be with you kid… Peace!!!” Lol

What is one of your most memorable concert experiences? I have two: Janet Jackson during her Rhythm Nation tour and in 2010 seeing A Tribe Called Quest in DC at the Rock The Bells festival
Tell us something about yourself that people might find surprising. I’m a die-hard sports fan and love fantasy football. Also, I’m very competitive and I hate to lose, lol
In the movie “WKUF: The Untold Story”, who would you cast as yourself? My son because our personalities are exactly alike, he’s 29 years younger, and he loves music
